it’s official. at exactly 12:26 this afternoon i fell in love with missy mccullough. it happened right when i got to the ambition poster.
anyhow, i love her & this is why:
at first i was really drawn to her prints. i never thought of myself as a watercolor person. mostly acrylics, mixed mediums, and installation art … but not watercolor. especially the twiggy print. the attention to detail in the eyes is great.
then i got to the custom illustrations. that’s when i said “custom illustrations! whaat?!” bam, this is when miss mccullough and i reach about 5th date status. she’s lured me in with her little print feathers and now she’s peaked my interest further. i want to get to know her more. pretty much, you email her one of your favorite photos and provide a few deets:
1. a little bit about the photo and if there are any details or colors you would like to emphasize. like, maybe you looked ultra fab in that dress, kickin’ up those heels but the old ball in chain was caught in the pic. tell that guy to beat it!
2. a background idea or color
3. what size you would like the print
i personally like #6 of her top ten reasons to get a custom illustration “you can’t decide whether to be a punk or a goth. i can illustrate what you would look like so you can make an informed decision. i can even give you piercings or a cool tattoo without you experiencing any pain… it’s like magic”
that’s when i stumbled onto her blog the long runway about a girl named eva, a small town girl with big dreams… aren’t we all?
i really enjoy her writing. reminds me a little bit of sloane crosley…very charming & full of wit. love her & you should too.
